Welcome

Thank you for your interest in joining the senior leadership team at Age UK Camden.

Age UK Camden is an independent charity affiliated to Age UK National with whom we shall shortly be signing a new Partnership Agreement. You can read all about our organisation below, but we are the largest charity in Camden supporting older people. We have contracts with the NHS, and the Local authority to provide a range of services to people living in our community. We also have  grants and donations from many grant givers with which we  support our charitable objectives. Like many charities we have suffered from recent reductions in financial support from donors, but our finances are now in a robust position and with careful management we believe we have now assured the sustainability of the organisation. We have an amazing, committed and creative workforce and over 250 wonderful volunteers.

Age Uk Camden is led by a small Senior Management Team and the CEO and the Chair,  with the Board, work very closely to provide high level leadership and strategic direction for the organisation. The Board, which meets seven times a year including the AGM, consists of trustees with a range of knowledge and experience who recognise their main function is to ensure strategic direction and governance of the organisation. They all do much more than attending meetings and have become involved with us in many different ways. Everything we do is carefully reviewed and monitored to make sure we are providing safe, efficient and effective interventions (See our Impact Report). Our Older Peoples Advisory Group, along with other input from our users and carers helps us in finding out what services and support are most needed. We  put older people in the centre of all of our work. Working in partnership with our many stakeholders is key to what we do.

If you are an outstanding leader who can inspire our team and our partners, have the dynamism, vision, talent and experience to lead Age UK Camden through the opportunities and  challenges in the coming years, we would love to hear from you.

Mary Burd

Chair, Age UK Camden
