As we embark on a new strategic framework this April, Buttle UK is entering an exciting phase. This critical role presents a unique opportunity to shape our grants and influencing work from the outset.

We believe that Buttle UK is a special organisation, because of the direct difference we can make in the lives of vulnerable children and young people by providing items and activities that they are living without. The need for versatile and speedy support for children and families in crisis and poverty through our Chances for Children grants remains critical and we know that they are flexible to the needs of a changing landscape. Delivering and improving these grants ensures we continue to help families and young people immediately. 

But we no longer think it is enough to continue our intervention in this way, without also working to change a broken system that is dragging more into poverty - particularly for those that are also facing significant crises in their lives. We will not react to the effects of crisis and poverty alone, without working to change the system for the most vulnerable in the longer term. As part of our work, we will use our expertise and insight to better understand and explore who our priority grantees are and why. We will also explore and test what other grant options there are that would have a deeper impact for these priority groups. 

We want to work with a brilliant candidate that is passionate about developing our grants and collaborating with others to explore and build deeper programmes of support for the most vulnerable. This role will also help us to shape and develop how we aim to influence others through our grantmaking.
